You can whip it up using simple pantry staples you probably already have on hand.

Whether it’s a Friday night game, a last-minute get-together, or just a family snack spread, this queso never fails to please a crowd.

Why Pantry-Staple Queso Works

We’ve all had those moments where company is on the way and you need something quick but satisfying. This queso doesn’t require fancy cheeses or specialty ingredients—just a few shelf-stable items and one skillet. The result is a silky, rich dip with a touch of spice that feels restaurant-worthy.

Ingredients You’ll Need

  • 16 oz White Velveeta, Cubed
  • 1 oz Cheddar Cheese, Shredded
  • 2 oz Browned Breakfast Sausage
  • 4 oz can Green Chiles
  • 6-8 oz Milk
  • 1/8 t. Cumin
  • 1 oz packet of Taco Seasoning
  • Fresh Cilantro, to taste

How to Make It

  • 1. In a saucepan add all ingredients and turn on low-medium heat.
  • 2. Stir until smooth and combined.
  • 3. Taste and adjust taco seasoning, cumin and cilantro as needed.
  • 4. Serve warm with tortilla chips, Fritos, or even poured over nachos.

Tips for Making it Yours!

  • Don’t have cheddar on hand? Be flexible, use Pepper Jack, Monterey Jack, White American
  • Add cooked ground beef or chorizo to turn it into a heartier dip.
  • Keep it warm in a small slow cooker if serving at parties.
  • Also, place in a baker and reheat in the oven.
  • Add fresh jalapeno to add a kick!
