Cookies n’ Cream Cookies with Oreo Chunks

At Birdy & Pretzels, we love taking classic flavors and giving them a soft, modern twist — the kind that makes every bite feel a little nostalgic but still completely new. Our Cookies n’ Cream Cookies celebrates another cookie, and that’s exactly what this one does. Our Cookies n’ Cream Cookies are soft, buttery, and loaded with chunks of real Oreos baked right in. Each bite has that perfect mix of creamy vanilla dough and bits of crisp chocolate cookie, giving you the best of both worlds.

These Cookies are all about texture –

Soft in the center, a little chewy around the edges, and studded with Oreo pieces that stay perfectly crunchy. It’s everything you love about cookies and cream ice cream, baked into a warm, fresh-from-the-oven cookie.

To make them extra tender, we add a touch of cream cheese and cornstarch to the dough. The cream cheese brings a subtle richness, while the cornstarch gives that melt-in-your-mouth softness that makes these cookies stand out.

The dough itself is sticky — that’s what makes the cookies so soft! You can bake it right after mixing or chill it for a short time to make it easier to handle. Either way, you’ll end up with thick, creamy, cookies ’n cream perfection.

Ingredients You’ll Need

  • 4 oz Butter, softened
  • 2 oz Cream Cheese, softened
  • 150 g Brown Sugar
  • 100 g Granulated Sugar
  • 2 Eggs
  • 6 ml Vanilla Extract
  • 315 g Flour
  • 8 g Baking Soda
  • 4 g Cornstarch
  • 5 g Salt
  • 8-10 Oreos - you be the judge!

How to Make It

  • 1. Cream together your Butter, Cream cheese and both Sugars.
  • 2. Add in Eggs and Vanilla.
  • 3. Add in Flour, Baking Soda, Cornstarch and Salt.
  • 4. Stir in crumbled Oreo Cookies.
  • 5. Scoop dough using the B&P “Small Cookie Scoop” or 2 oz. balls and place on parchment lined baking sheets.
  • 6. Bake at 350° for 6 minutes, rotate and bake for an additional 3 minutes OR until edges are lightly golden but centers still look soft. Remember EVERY oven is different so customize to what works best for your oven.
  • 7. Cool on the sheet until ready to transfer!

Tips for Making it Yours!

  • Try making them with Golden Oreos, you won't be disappointed.
  • Include sprinkles and you've got a party!
  • Turn them into a cookie sandwich - fill with your favorite buttercream or ice cream and you're in business.
  • Add a teaspoon or two of espresso powder and you've got a richer more decadent cookie.
